Only 4 more days to go before I run in the Memphis Marathon in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Treatments invented at St. Jude over the years have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened.
The last month has been an incredibly difficult time for me on numerous fronts. I have barely trained for this run because of back problems, and I feel woefully prepared to run 42.2 kilometres. But my personal health issues are minuscule in comparison to what the kids of St. Jude experience daily, and I will suck it up. I made a commitment to the cause, the kids and to my supporters and the show will go on, regardless of my final race time. My only commitment is to do the very best that I can.
I am getting near my personal fundraising objective of $1500. Please support my ongoing efforts over the next few days and contribute generously to the cause. My personal donation page can be found here, and remember that no donation is too small, even a few dollars. Thank you so much.
