On October 27, 1993, a de Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter aircraft operating Widerøe Flight 744 crashed into terrain during approach into Namsos Airport, Høknesøra, Norway. The crash is known as the Namsos Accident.
Six of the nineteen people on board the aircraft, including the crew, were killed in the crash. The scheduled flight was on route from Trondheim Airport, Værnes to Rørvik Airport, Ryum, via Namsos. The Twin Otter descended below minima during a localizer approach without glide path and struck the ground.
