Only 4 more days to go before I run in the Memphis Marathon in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Treatments invented at St. Jude over the years have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened.
Hi everyone. I am honored to announce that I will run again in the Memphis Marathon on December 5, 2015. This is the second consecutive year that I have run the Memphis Marathon in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
I snapped this photo of a Qatar Airbus A350 aircraft in Frankfurt during a recent stopover at the airport. Qatar is the launch customer for the Airbus A350.
I flew this Airbus A319 in retro Scandinavian Airlines System livery today from Copenhagen to Amsterdam. I absolutely love the old paint schemes that many carriers employ nowadays on a selected number of aircraft. A nice blast from the past.
Another long travel day yesterday. It started with a 7-hour flight, a 21:30 departure out of Montreal to Germany, then a 90-minute wait, then a connecting flight to Copenhagen. By the time I finished a quick meeting at the airport and arrived at the hotel, it was 16:30.
Had this photo taken at the completion of the Ottawa Marathon a few weeks ago. I can’t imagine this was an overly enjoyable moment for the Mountie, with an endless flow of sweaty runners lining up for photos and handshakes.
I am off to Vancouver on Saturday for the annual SAE G-12 meetings. As luck would have it, the Vancouver Marathon goes on Sunday May 3, and I am enrolled in the 42.2 km race. I am either a fool or a very determined person.
If you’re ever looking for an interesting place to go in the Southwest United States, you really should visit the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico, an hour north of Las Cruces.
A few weeks ago, during an obvious period of overindulgence and self-loathing over the Christmas holidays, I enrolled in the Tough Guy 2015 race in Wolverhampton, England, a gruelling 15km run on a course littered with over 250 obstacles, including fields of fire, barbed wire and electric fences.
